Ecco qui un altro orologio militare, un grande orologio con una grande storia, sicuramente più economico rispetto a un Rolex 5513/17 ma senza dubbio un altro timepiece da aggiungere ad una vera collezione.
I Tudor Submariner MN sono stati utilizzati dalle forze militari di molti paesi, tra cui Argentina, Sud Africa, la Giamaica, Stati Uniti e più in particolare della Marina Francese – Nationale Marine (MN). La marina francese ha svolto un ruolo chiave nello sviluppo dei Tudor Submariner e ha testato sul campo gli orologi fin dalle prime referenze 7922, i Big Crown.
Il più noti e avidamente ricercati tra gli orologi MN sono i solo tempo, i modelli blu-dial con sfere “snow-flake“, consegnati con i loro cinturini NATO in tessuto.
I Tudor MN MilSub in circolazione provengono da ex-militari e sono generalmente autenticati controllando il numero di serie con i libri contabili orologiai della Marina Francese. Portano la sigla MN accompagnata dalle ultime due cifre dell’anno in cui sono stati consegnati. La parte posteriore di questo orologio porta l’incisione M.N. 82 (1982).
Dal momento che sono stati utilizzati intensamente e in condizioni estremamente difficili per molti anni, è molto raro che gli esemplari sopravvissuti fino ad oggi siano in perfette condizioni. Tuttavia, la relativa rarità di questi orologi, le rispettive storie e l’atmosfera che evocano, li rende molto ricercati.
I Tudor Submariner MN venivano forniti all’origine con il cinturino dello stesso tessuto utilizzato per le cinture del paracadute. L’elasticità di questo materiale ha reso l’orologio comodo da indossare e facile da regolare consentendone un agevole impiego anche sopra la muta da sub.

The Tudor Submariners have been used by the military forces of many countries, including Argentina, South Africa, Jamaica, United States and particularly by the French Navy – Marine Nationale (MN). The French navy has played a key role in the development of Tudor Submariner and field-tested the watches from the earliest references 7922, the Big Crown.
The most well known and eagerly sought out of the MN watches are the non-date, blue-dial models with “snowflake” hands, often issued on grey fabric NATO straps.
MN MilSub in circulation come from ex-military and are generally authenticated by checking the serial number with the watchmakers books of the French Navy.
Since they have been used intensively and in very difficult conditions for many years, it is very rare to found examples to this day are in perfect condition. However, the relative rarity of these watches, their stories and the atmosphere that evokes, makes them very popular.
Tudor Submariner MN were known to have been the strap by the same material of parachutes belts. The elasticity of this material made the watch comfortable to wear and easy to adjust also over the diving suit.
