Progettato da Ephrem Jobin e lanciato nel 1948, il calibro 135 di Zenith rappresenta una pietra miliare tra i movimenti cronometrici da polso di ogni tempo. Molto amato dai collezionisti di orologi d’epoca è un movimento innovativo, estremo e molto raffinato allo stesso tempo. Il successo del 135 risiede fondamentalmente in tre elementi. Un bariletto più grande che ne aumenta la riserva di carica; un bilancere sovradimensionato (in Glucydur,una lega di rame, berillio e ferro negli orologi di serie, Guillaume, lega in acciaio-nichel al 42/44% di nichel per gli esemplari da Concorso), che ha imposto il decentramento della ruota dei minuti; una regolazione fine particolarmente sensbile.
Elementi questi, progettati e realizzati con tale maestria da permettere al 135 Zenith di vincere oltre 200 premi individuali e addirittura per 5 anni di seguito, dal 1950 al 1954, il celeberrimo concorso cronometrico dell’Osservatorio di Neuchâtel per i movimenti “da polso” (platina di max 30mm di diametro). La produzione totale ammonta a 11.000 esemplari e pertanto gli orologi che dispongono di questo calibro sono divenuti oggetti di culto da parte di intenditori e collezionisti di tutto il mondo.
Dalla collezione Oredelmondo, il più ambito tra i 135, ovvero un rarissimo e straordinario 135 Chronometre “Port Royal”, addirittura in oro rosa 18kt! Caratterizzato da una Cassa a vite in oro rosa massiccio (addirittura il quadrante è stampato direttamente su di una base in oro 18kt, così come in oro sono le lancette!!) da 37mm di diametro, il Port Royal è esempio del miglior connubio tra tecnica orologiera, lusso ed eleganza.

Zenith 135 Port Royal, the Art of Thinking
Designed by Ephrem Jobin and launched in 1948, the Zenith caliber 135 is a milestone in the movement timekeeping wristwatch of all time. Much loved by collectors of vintage watches is an innovative movement, extreme and very elegant at the same time. The success of the 135 lies in three basic elements. A larger barrel which increases the power reserve; an oversized rocker (in Glucydur, an alloy of copper, beryllium and iron in the watches of the series, Guillaume, alloy steel, nickel at 42/44% nickel for specimens from Competition), which imposed the decentralization of the minute wheel ; a fine adjustment particularly sensbile.
These elements, designed and constructed with such skill as to allow the Zenith 135 to win more than 200 individual awards and even for 5 consecutive years, 1950-1954, the famous competition lap of Neuchâtel Observatory for movement “wrist” (sinker max 30mm diameter). The total production amounted to 11,000 specimens and therefore the watches that have this caliber have become objects of worship by connoisseurs and collectors from around the world.
